SADGASM: BAND BIO

Band name: Sadgasm Genre: Emo /alternative Record label: Counter Intuitive Records Members: Eric (drums/vocals), Jake (bass), Matt (guitar/vocals) Fun Fact: In Jakes wallet he keeps a photograph of his wallet Latest single : Creature Latest EP: Tree house of terrible mistakes Listen to if you enjoy: Remo Drive, Mom Jeans, Jank , Marietta Having formed in early 2015, Sadgasm are fresh faces to the emo scene. Bandcamp provided a useful platform for the trio to share their music, and they have now produced two EPs. Recently, Eric, Jake and Matt have signed to the niche Counter Intuitive Records, a large step in their career as an emo band. Even though Sadgasm have recently finished touring with Free Throw and Mom Jeans, they are relatively new to the concept and are yet to have a headline tour of their own. Keep a lookout in 2018.

Record label

SideOneDummy Records is an independent record label (Indie) based in Los Angeles. It was founded in 1995 by Bill Armstrong and Joe Sib. The label began as a way for them to release music for their friends' bands. Thereafter SideOneDummy launched the careers of bands like The Gaslight Anthem and Flogging Molly. Since 1998, SideOneDummy Records has also released the annual Warped Tour compilation album, which features music by bands playing on the current year's tour. they recently singed Momjeans. This company fits our genera and is some what a small label compaired to more mainstream ones.

Courtney Barnett video analysis

Establishing shot and title of the song and the artist, green cheerful opening signify that the song will be up beat, this shot then pans down to the artist playing the role to fit the narrative, tracking shots are then used to follow her movement, the colour pallet for the whole video is bright and uses natural and studio lighting. This is a master shot and the video refers to this through most the video to show a narrative element linking to lyrics. this shot is used 25+ times, the artist is always framed on the right consistently whilst the action is behind her. final zoom shot of the bad plying after the verisimilitude is broken and it becomes a classic music video of the band playing, this is well sinked and shows comradery
